ABOUT THE PROJECT

Make the web
a little clearer.

Aanlyn Link Lab is a small educational site about the journey between clicking a link and arriving on a page.

It is published under the project name Linkfield Studio. Our focus is practical web literacy: reading an address, recognising a redirect, and understanding the limits of a referrer.

What you can do here

The field guide introduces the ideas in plain language. The URL inspector breaks an address into its scheme, hostname, path, query and fragment. It processes the text in your browser without requesting the destination.

How to read the examples

The example addresses and journey illustration are teaching aids. The inspector provides structural information, not a security assessment or evidence that a destination is legitimate.

The guides link to MDN Web Docs for further explanation. A website’s behavior can depend on its own code, browser settings and the responses it receives. Observations about one request should be recorded with their context.
